Instructions for commenters
Netcomment.net is a browser-based service that streamlines the document commenting process. With this tool you can quickly check the status of projects, make corrections, and approve materials.
Commenting on the materials is easy and fast. Targeting your own fixes is easy with just one click, and seeing fixes from previous versions and other commenters in real-time reduces confusion.

Quick guide to commenting on materials
1. Kirjaudu palveluun
You will always receive an email notification about new projects. Click the link in the project email and log in to the service using your personal credentials.
NEW*: You can now also log in to the service using a One-Time Login Link. Click the One-Time Login Link function and enter your email address in the field that opens below. A login link will be sent to the email address you provided, allowing you to easily log in to the service. The link is valid for 15 minutes.
Your username for the service is always your email address (the same address to which the project email was sent). Your password has been sent to you in advance by email. If you cannot find the password email or have forgotten your password, you can easily request a new password using the Forgot my password function on the login page.
After logging in, you may change your password to one of your choice in the my page section found in the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the service. See the section My page in these instructions.
Open the project
Select the desired project from the project list by clicking the project name.
New projects assigned to you are always automatically highlighted (orange color and bold text) until you open the project. You can also manually highlight or remove the highlight from a project row using the Mark as Read and Mark as Unread functions in the top menu.
Adding, Moving, and Deleting Comments and Comment Arrows
(Comment arrows are not available for video materials.)
At the top of the comment list in the left-hand panel, there is a text field for your general comments regarding the page. Use this field for comments that are not related to any specific area of the image.
You can also mark a specific area in the image by clicking on it. A numbered comment arrow will be added to the selected location, and a text field for comments related to that area will automatically open.
You can easily move a comment arrow by clicking and dragging the arrow icon to the desired location.
To delete a comment arrow, double-click the numbered part of the arrow icon, or use the Delete function while editing the comment.
If you want to continue commenting later, save your comments using the Continue commenting later option. Please note that in this case your comments will not yet be visible to the sender of the material. You must approve or reject the page before your decision and comments are published to the sender.
With the additional intermediate save option for comments, you may also choose to make your comments visible to other members of the workgroup, communicate with the workgroup, and then make the final decision to approve or reject the page.
From the status icon in the project list, you can see your status for each project:
– you have not started commenting
– commenting is in progress (at least one page has not yet been processed)
– you have commented on the entire project and rejected at least one page
– you have commented on the entire project and approved all pages
– you are included in the project as a recipient only, without commenting rights or obligations
Please note that, to ensure a smooth workflow, it is recommended that you also approve pages that may not specifically be your responsibility, so that projects do not remain unfinished. You can approve multiple pages at once using the All Pages function, which opens by clicking the underlined text in the page selection area.
Other functions in the comment view
Files
Here you can download the original file for commenting, as well as any additional attachments uploaded to the project by the workgroup. You can also upload your own attachments to the project, such as missing images, larger text documents, and other related files.
Report
The reporting function is primarily intended for the sender of the material and compiles all project comments into a single document to make corrections and revisions easier to manage.
All pages
The All Pages view opens by clicking the text in the page navigation function. In this view, you can approve or reject multiple pages at once. To ensure a smooth workflow, it is recommended that you also approve pages that may not specifically be your responsibility, so that projects do not remain unfinished.
Tools in the comment view

Page selection
Browse the pages of the project. You can also select a specific page directly from the page icons on the right side of the view.

Versions
View previous versions of the project and comments on them. This will ensure that all comments posted are taken into account in the new version.
Työryhmän jäsenten kommentit ja status
The status of workgroup members is shown by the icon displayed next to each name:
– the person has not commented on the page
– the person has approved the page
– the person has rejected the page
– the person is included on the page as a recipient without commenting rights
View comments added by other workgroup members. Move the cursor over the comment numbers to see the area of the material to which the comment refers, or move the cursor over a comment arrow in the material to see the related text comment.
If the comment arrows obstruct the material and make it difficult to review, you can hide the comment arrows of an individual commenter by clicking the arrow next to the workgroup member’s name.
Comments are displayed in chronological order by default, with the newest comments shown first. At the bottom of the workgroup list, you can sort comments by date or alphabetically, or jump directly to the comments of a selected person.
Functions of the Project list
Files
Here you can download the original file to comment on, and also download any other attachments uploaded to the project by the team. You can also add attachments to the project yourself, such as missing images, larger text documents, and so on. The same function can also be found in the comments view.
Message
Here you can send messages to the project team or individual team members of your selected project. Messages are forwarded to recipients via email.
Archive
Keep your project list tidy and archive your finished projects. If, for some reason, a new version is added to a project you have archived, the project will automatically revert from the archive to the active ones, so you can archive projects at any time without any worries.
Delete
Deletes the project completely from your account. If, for some reason, a new version is added to a project you have deleted, the entire project will automatically return to your project list, so you can delete projects at any time without any worries.
Mark as read / unread
Highlight or remove the highlight from the project bar and stay up-to-date on which projects still need to be processed. New projects that arrive for you are always automatically highlighted until you open the project.
Active / archived
View active or archived projects.

Displays the total number of projects in the selected list. The number marked in orange tells you the number of new projects that you have not yet opened or marked as “read”.
Search
Retrieves projects from the view list based on the job name.
